Activity: pretend play pizza
Make a pizza station for pretend play!
Use this food-themed activity where children can use their creativity and imagination in child-led play. It’s a fun way to engage children, whether you’re setting up a dramatic play kitchen, planning a rainy day activity or exploring food-themed crafts.
It will help meet curriculum outcomes in English language arts. Children will develop communication and language skills as they act out roles, tell stories and share ideas.
Children will also:
- Make real-world connections by taking on roles like chef, server or customer.
- Strengthen fine motor skills through hands-on crafting and play-based manipulation.
- Practise kitchen skills like putting ingredients together, sparking an interest in food and cooking.
Download the activity kit which includes simple step-by-step instructions for DIY craft pizzas and a pizza oven. It also includes a printable crust if you are short on time.
